“Summer” in March – behind the scenes

I just had to share this with my fans – to realize what sometimes we do to get the look we have to. It was a freezing high 30ies in NY the day we were supposed to shoot a summer editorial. All my gorgeous models for this shoot were ages 4-8, wore absolutely stunning feathery dresses and head pieces worth fighting for! :)

Our princesses didn’t look much like royalty in their puffy jackets over the pretties, or wrapped in big soft blankets to keep warm, more like little sparrows, gathering ’round the two heaters we brought in to the barn, which was also the changing room.

The true beauty will be unveiled in Issue 5 of Babiekins Magazine, and for now – here’s a little look behind the scenes of this wickedly amazing shoot.

Behind The Scenes (Babiekins Issue 5)

It’s been almost a month since I organized a large shoot for Babiekins Magazine the first week of March. While I still have to restrain myself and be super patient until the issue comes out on May 2nd, I can show a couple of images I was able to snap while kids were getting ready for me (I had z e r o time once they were groomed and dressed, hence just these few images).

Loved working with all the munchkins :) A gorgeous and awesome kiddie crowd I had!

***Mother’s Day*** mini-shoots – limited availability

Mother’s Day is only a few weeks away, and there’s no need to tell us (the grownup kids of Moms), that there’s nothing our Moms like than some gorgeous photos of their little grand-munchkins.

Book your sessions now to receive prints and other amazing products in time for Mother’s Day (remember, for certain custom wall art and books/albums it takes up to 2 weeks to be delivered from the day they are ordered).

Last shoot in Mother’s Day series will be scheduled the weekend of April 23/24, 2011 to allow time for processing and order placement.

These mini-sessions are on-location shoots that will last 15-20 minutes and they are priced at 75$. Within a week after the shoot you will be able to view your photos in a password protected online gallery. You’ll be able to select three (3) images that you will receive on a CD in high resolution, accompanied by an 8×10 print.

Additional prints will be available for purchase at a 20% discount off a la carte prices. Digital packages are not available with this offer.

Gloomy morning and yummies

On this gloomy rainy morning, following the fire incident last night, I was moodier than usual. And what heals my mood swings better than great photography? I was browsing the web, looking for some pretty images to inspire me when I “Lingered Upon” this blog by a fellow NYer Alice Gao.

Check out these posts, categorized under edibles – food looking so pretty it lifted my spirits right up!

here are some of my favorites for one reason or another, but make sure to click links above to check out the rest. I think I need to come up with a witty name for my blog, I have a feeling it will be a mix of kids, kids fashion, cool things and yummy food photos.

Beauty, fresh and new, for minis’ rooms. {inspired}

One vendor I have not mentioned in my Playtime review was Namhee, and this was intentional. I could not find the words to describe the beauty, intricate details, little flowers and patterns, and fabric, and shapes in just a few words or a single image. So here comes – meet NamheeNYC. Not that I was able to come up with more or just more appropriate words, but given that Nahmee is a decor designer with a very specific audience, and amazingly intricate pieces I wanted to write about her in a separate post.

Namhee creates truly unique pieces of decor, beautiful yet functional. The way many items are presented on her website, makes me just want to get some for our summer home in the Poconos. Gorgeous metal chairs draped in colorful patterns, tiny stools looking so vintage and simple, clothes hooks in the shape of antlers. These items are so unique and so zen. Please enjoy the look of Manhee’s Playtime booth, and make sure to click those links to see her collection – you won’t be disappointed.
